Save the Planet 2016 will highlight which waste management solutions are applicable in SE Europe

Growing and unutilized waste are among the key challenges for the countries from South-East Europe. They certainly need knowledge and innovation in order to manage waste in an environmentally friendly and efficient manner. ‘Save the Planet’ is the only business event is Bulgaria dedicated to the waste management and recycling. The event is organized from 5 to 7 April in Sofia by Via Expo.

For exhibiting companies from Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and the Czech Republic the main reason to take part in Save the Planet is to find distributors and to launch new products.

Participants announce that most of the presented solutions are high-efficient and energy-saving. They are applicable for treatment and recycling of plastic, biodegradable, construction, paper waste, etc. An eye-catching exhibit will be an identification system for waste disposal and waste collection vehicles. Another highlight will be the improved and safe waste-to-energy (WtE) solutions for the treatment of municipal solid waste (MSW). For the first time an innovation that helps eliminate acid pollutants will be presented.

 

Representatives of the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Water, ProPellets, European Biogas Association, DG Environment, European Commission, etc. have joined the speaker lineup.

‘When looking at South-East Europe, we see that there is still a lot of work required. At the same time, huge potential lies beneath.”- Nadine De Greef from the European Federation of Waste Management and Environmental Services points. She will speak about the new European strategy and targets. A strong international presence and practice-oriented topics will ensure great knowledge exchange at the one-day conference. The New Circular Economy Package; The New Strategy with New Legislative Waste Targets; Plastic Recycling; Recycling in the Construction Sector; How to Turn Waste into Resource in the Food & Beverage, Agriculture and Wood Processing Sectors will be among the discussed topics. A number of projects in Bulgaria are realized or are underway. Speakers from leading Bulgarian associations will make an overview of this progress.
